The Social Planning Council of Toronto’s Save The Census campaign has created a great series of one page Handouts action kits to reach out and inform the grass roots and ‘regular’ citizens:
Combine those with the Canadian Council on Social Development’s Community Social Data Strategy Long Form Census Toolkit which provides excellent background material on what you can do and why.
datalibre.ca is a blog, inspired by civicaccess.ca, which believes all levels of Canadian governments should make civic information and data accessible at no cost in open formats to their citizens. The data is collected using Canadian tax-payer funds, and we believe use of the data should not be restricted to those who can afford the exorbitant fees. [more...]
